Sao Paolo, Brazil – November 25, 2019Turivius is pleased to announce Karen Donoghue as a new member of their Strategic Advisory Board. Turivius is a startup spun out of MIT building an AI-powered platform to address the regulatory complexity and excessive litigation in the Brazilian tax system by improving attorney accuracy and productivity. Ms. Donoghue is a respected thought leader and practitioner in enterprise product design and is Principal Interaction Architect at HumanLogic.

Brazil’s tax code is by far the most complex in the world, combining fast-changing rules with a high volume of new court decisions making it nearly impossible for legal professionals to stay up to date. Turivius is applying machine learning to continuously monitor updates enabling tax attorneys and legal professionals to keep abreast of relevant legal case precedents and changes to rules through a streamlined and proactive user experience. This automation maximizes their efficiency in delivering better tax case outcomes for their clients.

Karen Donoghue is the first board member to join Turivius’s Strategic Advisory Board. She will provide strategic guidance on the company’s overall product design and user experience strategy. Karen will advise on how best to scale business processes for design management, nationally and globally, to enable growth and new business opportunities.

“Innovative solutions are essential to transform how business processes leverage new technologies to improve employee productivity and lead to better business outcomes,” said Karen Donoghue. “Turivius is addressing the urgent need for efficiency in tax code compliance while supporting the work processes of tax attorneys now and into the future.”

“We are thrilled to have Karen Donoghue join our Advisory Board. She brings years of product design thought leadership and design expertise and is a powerful addition to our team,” said Turivius Founder and CEO, Danilo Limoeiro. “Karen’s extensive business leadership and understanding of how software companies to scale as they deliver great user experiences in the global marketplace is invaluable. Her expertise will be instrumental in helping to scale our technologies and support our goal of creating a world-class software solution to transform tax code compliance research and management.”

About Turivius

Turivius is a technology startup launched out of MIT in 2019 with a mission to improve the productivity of tax attorneys in Brazil and their capacity to leverage data analytics to refine and optimize their compliance and litigation decisions. The founding team is developing a machine learning platform that integrates legal research, data analytics, an archive-and-share tool and automated production of documents in the same workflow.  The Turivius platform ‍combines a search engine that expedites legal research with data analytics to make tax compliance easier and improve productivity for attorneys and counselors. Turivius’ founders are seeking to address the inefficiencies of Brazil’s excessive litigation through an AI-powered dispute resolution platform applied to the tax code, enabling tax attorneys and legal teams to always be up to date with case precedents with very little effort.

As of October 2019, Turivius is the first startup to enter the Pre-Seed Program of A.B.Seed Ventures in Brazil.
